Along the seaside, looking at Yalıkavak Bay, the client had 4 plots separated by roads belonging to the municipality. Each of these 4 plots have different zoning status according to its localisation towards the sea and the municipality laws.
This area formed by the 4 plots is quite large and embrace a fabulous view on both the seaside, and the Yalıkavak Bay. The site had a typical mediterranean vegetation as cactus, olive trees and pine trees, which has been replaced after construction. Its characteristic topography – which climbs about 200m above the sea level – with rocky cliffs and caves makes this place very particular in the area of Bodrum, especially along the seaside.
These natural elements gave us the base for creating a charming, luxury, but still mediterranean project in Yalıkavak. Beside the difficulties of the slope on the site, we could manage, thanks to 3d modelling, to give to each dwelling a sea view with a garden.
Most of the villas have 2 floors due to the slope: main living area is at the upper floor, opened on the sea view and the garden on the side with its swimming pool. The lower floor is mainly dedicated to the bedrooms.
The existing valley in the middle has been preserved as a green area which links all the plots from the top where some social facilities have been places, to the beach at the bottom. A pedestrian way has been designed through the whole valley with viewing platforms and playgrounds.
The whole complex has beside its 2 social facilities an open-air shopping centre. It is mainly aimed at hosting restaurants with their terraces opened on the sea view.
The project, through the use of local materials for the façade, as well as local vegetation for the landscape, wishes to recreate the ambiance of a typical mediterranean village above the Egean Sea.
