The BP Project is located on a 3 storey boutique office building that is made up of 2 blocks. Taking in to account the corporate values of one of the biggest companies in the world, the project was designed accommodating the current and future needs of BP.

With a long side of 115 meters, it is zoned as open office and service areas within the elliptical plan.

The circulation relations in between these zones has been the main force behind the decision making process of the layout.

In order to increase the communication in between the users, socializing areas were created and the space use was enriched with waiting areas in the lobby and the guest meeting rooms.

As an executive decision from BP, there were no closed offices within the open office layout. This way the person to working area ratio was kept over 6m2 per employee.

The need for the secluded working areas for working in private or using the phone was answered by placing 28 small 2 person rooms within the open office.

There are 4-18 person meeting rooms for guests and employees to use within the service areas.

The multipurpose room that is divided with portable separators can be used for seminars as well as U shaped order meetings.

The communication problem that is brought by the two blocks separated by a bridge is solved by placing the departments that need to communicate between them in the same block.

Both blocks contain their own lounge area but the relationship between the blocks has not been completely cut off.

Suspended ceiling has not been used due to the existing low ceiling height.

The air conditioning units have been placed along the façade line to keep the visibility of the mechanical pipes to a minimum in the open office area.

Due to the marketing strategy of BP, they produce a high number of advertising campaigns and visual marketing images and these images may end up being used over the walls. In order to stop an aesthetic confusion that this might create, the areas which these sort of images could be used over the walls are limited with by placing on these walls fabric panels with acoustic properties.

The lighting system is completely automated and controlled by daylight and motion sensors.

The changing rooms and the gym placed on B1 level act as an extra-curricular activity area for the personnel as well as an area that allows easy access for sorting out the files that are stored away in storage.

This area is in close proximity to the cafeteria that is accessible to all the staff and also holds within itself functions such as IT and correspondence department.
